Released on the Wii in 2007, this was a launch-era Wii title that didn't come up to snuff. It's commonly regarded as one of the worst games of all-time, almost like Bubsy 3D but with opposite issues. Whereas Bubsy moved weirdly sluggishly, Ninjabread Man moves wickedly fast to the point that you are constantly running into and falling off of shit that you don't mean to. It's also super buggy and super short, with only 4 levels including the training stage, and you don't even really take advantage of his gingerbread status. He just uses a sword and a slingshot that tosses kunai, pretty much. And as was usual with shovelware Wii games, the motion controls were unresponsive and swinging the sword took God's effort to get right. Thank you, Data Design Interactive! There was also going to be a sequel, LMAO.

General Information[] Entrance[]

A pink and blue cotton candy-like smoke is seen on the stage as a sword is swung through it causing the smoke to dissipate and reveal Ninjabread Man waiting to fight.

Kirby Hat[]

Kirby’s eyes and mouth will change to be made out of frosting much like Ninjabread Man’s.

Taunts[]

Up Taunt: Ninjabread Man’s headband will slip down on his face just enough to cover one of his eyes which causes Ninjabread Man to need to quickly readjust his headband and put it back in place.

Down Taunt: Ninjabread Man will pull out a chocolate bar emblazoned with the Smash logo and messily eat it causing a chocolate stain to be left behind on his face from his poor eating habits.

Side Taunt: Ninjabread Man puts his "ninja mask" on, which looks like Zool, who his game was originally going to feature. The mask stays on until the taunt is used again, which will prompt Ninjabread Man to take it off. It can also be knocked off by a hard enough hit.

Victory Poses[] Ninjabread Man falls from the sky and performs a Black Widow-esque battle poses while smirking towards the camera, barely sticking his landing. Ninjabread Man will be holding a small present in his hands which he excitedly unwraps. The present is revealed to be a game called “Ninjabread Man 2” for the Wii U. Ninjabread Man will perform a quick one-two punch towards the right side of the screen as a candy cane is thrown at him and broken by the second punch. Following this Ninjabread Man will face towards the screen and bow. Moveset[] Standard Special[]

Holiday Blast: Ninjabread Man will whip out an oversized candy cane and hold it like a shotgun. When tapping the special button a blast of peppermint shrapnel will fire out of the candy cane-shotgun in a pattern similar to that of an actual shotgun! The overall range is relatively short, and each piece of shrapnel deals a small amount of damage; however as one should expect, this can quickly add up. If Ninjabread Man holds down the special button instead, the range of the shotgun blast will get thinner and more concentrated as it’s range increases a fair amount.

Side Special[]

Licorice Lash: When used on the ground, Ninjabread Man will swing a rope of licorice as if he were cracking a whip with more damage done at it’s very tip. This whip attack isn’t quite as long as that of the Belmont’s whip, but it comes out much quicker. If this attack is instead used while Ninjabread Man is in the air then he will swing his licorice whip in a very Spider-Man-like way as he uses it to swing himself through the air for some horizontal recovery. This aerial version of the attack can still damage opponents, but this time Ninjabread Man himself is the hitbox as he can ram into opponent midswing and damage them.

Up Special[]

Kawarimi no Ginger: With a puff of pink and blue cotton candy-like smoke, Ninjabread Man will propel himself high up into the like a ninja needing to make a desperate escape. If Ninjabread Man is attacked while he is in the process of the startup of this attack, then this move gains Counter properties. When this happens Ninjabread Man will toss three quick chocolate kunais in rapid succession which are all aimed at the opponent who attacked Ninjabread Man. The best part is that this counter will trigger on both melee and ranged attacks!

Down Special[]

Gum Dropper: Ninjabread Man will pull out a set of bolas comprised of two sticky gumdrop candies connected by a piece of laffy taffy and begin to swing it above his head. Ninjabread Man will swing the bolas for about a second or so before tossing them forwards. The bolas travel mostly straight, but will begin to lose height and fall towards the ground after about half of Battlefield’s distance and when they fall, they fall pretty hard. However, if the bolas are able to make contact with an opposing fighter they will wrap around that fighters legs and cause them to trip and take damage. Their damage percent will determine how long the fighter is tied up for, however it’s never longer than four seconds. That said, four seconds can be just long enough to followup with a powerful attack or run away to grab a desperately needed Maxim Tomato.

Final Smash[]

Baker's Dozen: Ninjabread Man takes a giant steel kitchen paddle and slams it down onto opponents. If it connects, opponents are taken into a cinematic. They find themselves the size of normal gingerbread men, set next to several actual unbaked gingerbread men. Amounting to a full dozen, the opponents look up, terrified by the figure looming over the baking sheet revealing itself to be a very vengeful Ninjabread Man. With a devilish smirk, Ninjabread Man lifts the baking sheet up with the paddle and sets them into a wood-stove fire, leaving them to bake. The cinematic dissipates and the opponents are sent on fire flying. Anyone with over 100% damage leading into the FS is auto-KO'd.

Extra Skill[]

Bananrang: Ninjabread Man tosses his trusty Foamy Banana Boomerang forward. It's like a Circus Peanut, but banana-shaped! If this sweet treat connects with an opponent, it'll bonk 'em on the head and come flying back to Ninjabread Man. Functionally, it works similarly to Link’s Boomerang, albeit faster-moving and lighter-hitting. For the most part that’s it, this move is just a candy banana that functions like a boomerang. However when using this move there is a 10% chance that it will actually be a Whipped Bananarang. This is indicated by a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry on top of one of the ends of the Bananarang. If the Whipped Bananarang hits an opponent then the whipped cream & cherry will stick to them and cause their movement speed to be slowed by x0.1 for 10 seconds.

Unique Traits[]

As he is a gingerbread ninja, Ninjabread Man is capable of Wall Jumping.
